August 2017

We had an amazing weekend. Camping were the Smith's, Colberts, Bodine's, and Judd's. Lodging were the Bumps, and Rutters. Attending campfires and dinners were: Vucksons, Hursts, Young, Brown, Rutter's Daughter and son-in-law,  & Cooks. A wonderful weekend.
Several visited on Sunday afternoon.  Monday many were at the campground during the day while the three amigos golfed. We moved from spot to spot to keep out of the sun but kept pretty comfortable. Hospitality was on Sunday night and as usual we had a feast. Monday night was at Harry's Stone Grill. 22 folks enjoyed a variety of food food.

Tuesday Jean Rutter, Pat and Jean's daughter made a trip to Vevay for a quilt store (I know everyone is surprised.) Keith and Becky toured downtown Madison after breakfast with the Bumps and Rutters at the Lodge. I hear the size of the pancakes were more than "super sized".
Wednesday morning we all cleared out of the campground and left it to the next folks to enjoy.

I heard that Tom McNulty had been home one day this week as part of the PT to see if he was strong enough to do things on his own.
I received the following note from Tommy this afternoon.
"Spoke with the case manager today. Everything is pointing for Dad to get out of here on Friday and go home. He is still pretty weak, we will continue rehab and nursing care at home for a couple weeks. Fingers crossed."
I also talked to Bob Hess on the phone this afternoon as we left the campground. He reminded me that they will be having their 67th wedding anniversary in a couple weeks. He was excited to hear that we will be coming to Charlestown State Park in September. He says they are both doing good. He had company and airport trips when we were camping or they would have come to visit.
Also, I want to thank everyone for my gift, which I received on Monday night at the dinner! I had no clue.........you are all very good at keeping a secret!!!! Thank you again, it was not necessary, but very nice.
Now I will sign off for this evening.

Rich and Linda!
We love you guys! The sun washed your pictures out a bit.
Boy, oh boy, did we eat good!

Bill saying something about the camera being aimed his way!  :O)

We said Happy Birthday to Judy today too.....Did you hear us Judy?

Other news, Bob and Rita were not able to attend today.  They are soon to be trying out their new MH-Isata.  So we hope to see them at more campouts next year!

Hope Frank and Marilyn are doing well after Frank's cataract surgery yesterday.

Of course, we know a group that is River Cruising!  Hope you are having a blast.

Ask Butch how long it took us to get back to Brownstown (quilt store of course) by traveling 135.  But it was a beautiful drive on this beautiful fall day.  Warm and sunny! And then how we managed to get to Scottsburg when 250 was closed!  All made for an interesting drive.  :o)

Happy Fall Y'All!
