June 2017

June, 2017, Sunny Memories Notes

On 6/8/17 the Bodines, Judds, Smiths (including daughter, Rain), and Colberts gathered at Brookville Lake SRA Campground, for 3 nights of good fellowship, good food, campfires, and perfect (if a little windy) weather!
Friday saw the usual golf outing…. it was a two-some with John driving the cart and enjoying the views of a beautiful golf course with views of the lake.  Some went into Brookville, shopped a little, went to the Visitors Center and loaded up on a bag (gift) full of brochures, a cup, and ballpoint pen!  Also got suggestions for lunch which turned out well.  (the Korners’ Kountry Kitchen)  We drove around a little, enjoyed the many beautifully restored houses, visited a salon and boutique,  found out the Farmers Market opens in the afternoon (and was a ‘bust’ when John went back later).  But the local and handy IGA had all we needed. I believe Pat found the fabric store later….:)
Hot Dog night was co-hosted by Becky and Pat with contributions from Gleeann and Debbie.  Always plenty to eat, and a campfire to enjoy!
Saturday was another beautiful day, and a full campground!
We started the day with a Brunch prepared by Jerry and John.  Since there were only 9 of us, John wanted to make omelets to order for everyone.  Yummy and something new for us!  Blueberry pancakes, sausage, bacon, watermelon, cantaloupe….my mouth is watering just writing about it!  Big thank you to the chefs!
The Colemans drove over to visit before going out to dinner.  They got to witness Becky receiving a big ‘splat” from overhead, landing on a clean white shirt (NOT HAIR, like Betty Pack’s experience.)  Ugh, think they found some blueberries to eat.
Pretty soon, the Vucksons drove in with Rick and Sandi Judd, and Sandy Stoner (neighbor to Colberts and part of our Friday night Cracker Barrel crowd).  Eventually made our way to Ainsleys Cafe on Brookville Lake…very popular place with lake view, marina, etc.  After a good meal there, we all returned to campground for dessert and another campfire.
We never forget those who are having health struggles, and those who have given up their units.  We learned about Bob Rutter’s need for bypass surgery, and are praying for a successful outcome from surgery this Thursday, the 15th, in Indianapolis.  Bill Smith has had a lot of health issues and recently acquired one of those defibrillator/pacemaker gadgets.  He looked good to us and they have reservations to camp each month this year!
Mary Brown is still dealing with effects of Bells Palsy, anemia, and fatigue.
Tom continues to recuperate in FL, with more surgery in the future.
Charley still struggling with back pain, hoping to get some answers/help soon.
There are probably others I have missed, but those are foremost on my mind right now.
All reasons to lift each other up in prayer, live each day to the fullest, and be thankful!
Next month is Versailles SP….hope to see you there!
Happy Trails,
Becky
